Abstract: |
Characteristics of climate changes in the Hulun Buir region and Ejina Banner during the
instrumental period, Inner Mongolia, were analyzed by the methods of linear regressions, trends
and spatial correlations. Our results indicated that significant warming trends existed in annual and
growing seasonal mean temperatures in both regions, while no significant common trends existed in
precipitation. Variations of four annual runoff series, results of spatial correlations and period analyses
show a synchronous trend in wet and dry climate conditions existed in the eastern and southern
Mongolian Plateau. The effects of climate-related environmental pressure and human activities stress
on the forest in the eastern and western Inner Mongolia are still serious under the global warming
background. |
